    Description

Here's a beautiful little old style sampler rug which i bought years ago .
I've traveled through the Navajo and the Hopi reservations many times .
In one of my trips I bought several rugs from the Famous Hubbell Trading Post .
It is run by the Forest Service now but it looks the same as it has for decades.
And it is still full to over flowing with great Indian hand crafted goods .
Their specialty has always been the famous Navajo hand loomed wool rugs .
They carry all the different styles which are made in different parts of the reservation.  Hubbell helped propel the Indian women to weave these beauties .
The women tend their sheep in their far off land driving them to better grazing areas . They shear the wool ,card it  ,make their some times huge looms and weave for hours out side by their sheep and their family .
Their rugs are known all around the world and are highly collectable.
This little gem was made by
    Philamena Lewis .
It's authentic and has the proof .
It's called an ,,Old Style Sampler .
    Measures 7.5 x 11 ".
The rug is in excellent condition.
