Description

Curt Flood St. Louis Cardinals MLB Wall Poster by Renselaar Corp, in Orig. packaging. Shipped with USPS First Class.
Not sure of the definitions of conditions (I'm not a collector). This has never been used, it's in the original plastic sleeve. No pin holes, tape marks, rips, tears, etc. The only minor issue is some 'semi-rippling'. These were stored in the plastic wrap but the tube shape got pushed into an oval. That's why there are some minor ripples visible in the photos. Easily correctable.
The Sports Illustrated player posters were offered for sale from 1968 through 1970. They were 24"x 36", made by Renselaar Corp. in Norristown, PA and they sold for .50 each. The borderless posters featured action or posed color photos of the players. The posters could be ordered through dealers that carried Sports Illustrated magazines or through the mail, by using an order form from Renselaar Corp., dba; Major League Posters.
This poster is of Curt Flood. Curt is not only a historical baseball figure and ‘should be’ Hall-of-Famer, he was instrumental in the fight for free agency.
Curtis Flood was a centerfielder who played 15 seasons in the major leagues for the Cincinnati Redlegs,St. Louis Cardinals (Cards HoF), and Washington Senators. Flood was a three-time All-Star, a Gold Glove winner for seven consecutive seasons, and batted over .300 in six seasons. Flood also led the National League in putouts as center fielder four times and in fielding percentage as center fielder three times. He retired with the third most games in center field (1683) in NL history, trailing only Willie Mays and Richie Ashburn.
He had a lifetime batting average of .293 with 1,861 hits, 85 home runs, 851 runs, and 636 RBI. Defensively, Flood posted a .987 fielding percentage in his major-league career.
