Description
For your consideration, I am offering an exquisite - Lot of Twelve (12) - antique Cabinet Plates manufactured by the Coalport Porcelain Factory retailed for Ovington Brothers and made in England in Pattern X2287 featuring English motifs of Castles signed on the painting by the esteem artist J.H. Plant...circa 1891 to 1919...These rare, Cabinet Plates features the embossed rococco style broad bands inraised gilt gold and cobalt blue - each plate centered with a British Landscape and Castle hand painted by the artist John Hugh Plant and visibly signed...
Each Cabinet Plate measures 9.5 inches gold rim diameter..

2. Bamburgh Castle - condition is excellent
3. Bodiam Castle - condition is nice with present crazing
4. Caernarfon Castle - condition is excellent
5. untitled - condition is excellent
6. Hawthornden Castle - condition is excellent
7. Dryburgh - condition is excellent
8. Dartmouth Castle - condition is good with a scrape mark on blue and gold area
9. Loch Raven Castle - condition is nice with present crazing and utensil marks to the surface glaze
10 Dunafon Castle - condition is excellent
11 Warwick Castle - condition is excellent
12. Dover Castle - condition is excellent
Printed and painted marks:
In green the Coalport backstamp - represents timeline 1891 - 1919... In red the Ovington Brothers backstamp - (Ovington's, New York, Chicago was a retailer on Fifth Avenue in New York City)..
In gold ink is pattern No. X2287..
In script ink from the artist the name of each castle written near the innter band..
Light signs of previous use should be expected consistent with antique age and previous ownership, For its antique timeline and previous ownership , these seem to be in outstanding condition with some showing slight issues stated above after each Castle Plate - Some castle names are difficult to read - hopefully I am correct with the name..
